Kiss & Go Protocol Reminder

28 April 2025

Dear Parents/Guardians,

RE: Afternoon Pick-up Reminders and Update Procedures

With Prep students now finishing at the same time as the rest of Primary, we would like to remind all families of our afternoon pick-up protocols.

Updated Afternoon Entry Times

Parents and guardians are kindly reminded to adhere to the following afternoon entry schedule:

  • Primary Parents (including Prep): Entry permitted from 3:05pm
  • Secondary Parents: Entry permitted from 3:30pm

Parents who arrive before their designated time will be asked to return at the appropriate time. This measure is in place to ensure adequate supervision and the safety of children during the busy end-of-day transition period.

Kiss & Go Area — Key Reminders

  • To maintain an efficient traffic flow and reduce congestion along Springvale Road, ensure there are no parking spaces between your vehicle and the one in front when entering the Kiss & Go area by pulling forward as far as possible.
  • Please remain in your vehicle at all times while using the Kiss & Go. Staff members are available to assist children as necessary. Parents who exit their vehicles will be requested by staff to return to them.
  • Yellow and black chevron lines indicate areas where vehicles must not stop.
  • Vehicles waiting more than three minutes will be asked to loop around to maintain traffic flow.
  • Adhere to the speed limit and drive with extra caution during peak times.

Pedestrian Gathering and Student Safety

  • Parents who park in the carpark and collect their children must wait inside the cordoned-off area inside of the Sports Centre.
  • Do not gather in front of the Sports Centre, as it obstructs pathways and forces students to walk onto the road.
  • Once you have collected your child, please exit the area promptly to allow space for others.

Display of Pickup Signs

All Primary parents (including Prep) must clearly display their pickup sign in their vehicle window to assist staff with efficient student call-up and dismissal.

Why These Procedures Are Important

  • Child Safety: Under the Victorian Child Safe Standards, limiting access ensures that only authorised individuals are on-site during critical times.
  • Traffic Management: Staggered entry and efficient car movements reduce risks for students navigating car park areas.
  • Efficient Supervision: Staff are better able to monitor and manage student dismissals safely and effectively.

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and commitment to these important procedures. Together, we can ensure a smooth, safe, and positive end-of-day experience for our students, staff, and families.

Thank You
