Preparation for Possible Home-Based Learning Mandate
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Dear Parents/Guardians,
26 March 2026
Preparation for Possible Home-Based Learning Mandate
The government has been providing frequent updates regarding the current fuel crisis affecting our state. If shortages of petrol or diesel become severe, it is likely the government will recommend working from home, except for those considered essential workers. As a College, we want to be ready for this situation and partner with you to ensure that your child’s learning continues without interruption.
Drawing on our experience during previous lockdowns, we expect the government to specify which professions are essential. Our school will operate with minimal staff on-site to assist students whose parents are identified as essential workers.
Learning
All lessons will take place using Teams and MyEdOnline through Seqta.
A typical day will begin with Homeroom, where teachers will check in on students' wellbeing and share a devotion/prayer. For every scheduled lesson, subject teachers will meet their students on Teams. They will provide instructions, practice activities, and assign
homework. Once students begin working independently, teachers will remain available online to offer support during the rest of the class period. Additionally, Chapel will be held once per week at the scheduled time, featuring fun and engaging activities led by the Chaplains.
Students from Prep to Year 3 will receive their Microsoft 365 ID and password, as well as a Seqta ID and password. Their assigned learning device in the classroom will be issued to them for use at home. Year 4 students will have their laptops returned if remote learning is implemented. More information will be provided on collection of devices should this happen.
In the meantime, it would be helpful for you to prepare a set of headphones or earbuds for your child in case we transition to home-based learning. The main mode of communication during home-based learning will be over Seqta Direct Messages.
We appreciate your prayers for guidance and wisdom from our Lord Jesus Christ during these challenging times, trusting that everything will work out according to His will.

Blessings,
Wing Leong
College Principal
