RE: Traffic Conditions Around the College

Thank you for your cooperation in helping improve traffic flow around the College during drop-off and pick-up times. While there has been some improvement, traffic conditions outside the College just before pick-up remain a concern, largely because many cars arrive well before the scheduled collection times. Below is an email the College received from a nearby resident. The sender’s name has been removed to protect their privacy.

Good afternoon, staff at Lighthouse Christian College,

My name is ABC and I live in Princeton Drive, Keysborough. I would like to bring to your attention a traffic hazard as parents queue in their cars to pick up their children from your school. The queue extends down Springvale Road and often blocks off the entry and

exit leading in or out of Princeton Drive. 

I have seen a few cases now where there is risk to parents and students walking across this intersection as they have to navigate cars in the queue and cars exiting Princeton Drive, as they cross the road. 

There’s a high risk of having a car accident at the end of Princeton Drive as you enter onto Springvale Road. The cars in the queue block the vision of cars driving down Springvale Road at 60km/h possibly because the parents waiting in the queue don’t want to lose their position by allowing cars in and out of Princeton Drive. 

I would appreciate it if you could please investigate this before there is an accident.

Further to my letter of 15 May 2026, I urge parents not to arrive at the College before 3.15 pm for Primary pick-up and 3.30 pm for Secondary pick-up, unless you or your child has an immediate after-school commitment.
